     7U -Teeball

           For players ages 6 & 7
2026 SPRING REGISTRATION OPEN
Picture
Teeball baseball is a development level in which the fundamental skills (throwing, catching and hitting) are learned in a fun and non-competitive environment with an infield of 5-6 players only.  The primary focus being on fun, sportsmanship, and development.

In this division, girls and boys are provided with an opportunity to experience the elements of a shortened baseball game (infield only) with little or no consequence of errors and encouragement to develop skills.  A Softee or Incrediball ball is used to improve confidence in catching and fielding the ball as well as the benefit of a further hit ball.  The games have a time limit with a minimum of 2 innings.

Every player bats.  All hits are singles.  At the beginning of the season, a baseball is set on the batting tee with players batting the ball and running through first base.  Fielders are taught fundamental skills of fielding the ball and throwing to 1st base.  Base running skills are also introduced where players advance only 1 base on a hit (not overrunning 2nd or 3rd).  Also, no stealing or lead-offs.  Runners may be coached what to do in a given situation on a pop-fly or grounder only if the fundamental skills have been learned.

Parent coaches will receive support and training to ensure they are comfortable to provide the basic fundamental skills and ensure that the players have fun.  Scores are not kept or posted.  There are no winners or losers.  At the end of each game the teams will have a fun base running race then shake hands with opposing team.
