     18U -Midget

       For players ages 16-18
Picture
Burnaby Baseball Association offers a 18UAA Midget program in the Spring and Summer season, and 18UAAA & College Prep single season program  (partnership of BBA and  Vancouver Community Baseball).  18UAAA and College Prep are competitive travel teams and  will run one continuous season from Spring to Summer.

Teams can play an interlocking schedule consisting of 20 to 25 games (depending upon number of teams) against the other associations.  All home games are played at Robert Burnaby Park and Central Park while we travel to the other association parks for our away games.  With some minor exceptions for substitutions, teams at this level play according to the regular rules of baseball.  Pitch count rules will be in effect to protect the young pitchers from injury.  All pitch counts will be according to BC guidelines.  The base paths are set at 90 feet and the distance to the pitching rubber is set at 60 feet 6 inches.  The fences are set at 285’ in left & right fields and 320’ in center field, to a maximum of 320’ in left & right fields and 400’ in center field.  A regulation game is 7 innings and may not be called earlier unless it is for a permitted reason.  Players are expected to help and support their team mates, and exhibit respect and good sportsmanship towards umpires, coaches and other players, win or lose.
